Serhiy Vlasenko: Yushchenko lied several times under oath

pr_a3432.jpgLawyer Serhiy Vlasenko says that while testifying in trial of Yulia Tymoshenko, President Viktor Yushchenko failed to respond to questions and distorted facts.

"I even think he lied several times under oath. I heard Oleh Dubyna’s testimony and he clearly said that Yushchenko pulled him out of the talks, that he met with Firtash and other owners of RosUkrEnergo in Yushchenko’s office. But the former president only waved his hands at this and spoke about anything but this," Serhiy Vlasenko told journalists during the break in today’s session.

The lawyer also drew attention to Viktor Yushchenko’s statement that he considered RosUkrEnergo a subsidiary of Gazprom. "It was very interesting testimony that for some reason the Prosecutor General’s Office didn’t react to. If that’s the case, then they need to release Didenko from custody and close the criminal case against Tymoshenko," he said.

"Experts and the world have already recognized that Tymoshenko did not commit a crime, regardless of what Yushchenko says. If he wasn’t trying to express his political antipathy towards Yulia Tymoshenko, this would have simply looked somewhat pathetic on his part," he added.
