Yulia Tymoshenko: CIS is gaining strength and momentum

 
pr_a0279.jpgToday the participants of the meeting of Commonwealth of Independent States heads of government reviewed more than 20 important issues for the countries, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said following the summit in Yalta.

Yulia Tymoshenko underscored that most issues on the agenda related to economic cooperation and trade relations.

"Ukraine supports all the documents that were developed to optimize cooperation between CIS member countries in the energy sector. The documents that Ukraine signed are decisions on joint measures to overcome the effects of the global financial crisis, the implementation of which should play a positive role in improving our economies," the Prime Minister noted.

"We were able to share experiences, the best achievements of each country in battling the crisis, to discuss and lay the groundwork for our further work to overcome the global financial crisis," added Yulia Tymoshenko.

In addition, she was very satisfied that they signed documents on the development of international transport corridors, because, as she emphasized, realizing its transit potential is a priority direction for Ukraine.

The heads of the CIS delegations also signed a document on stepping up work and coordinating the battle against HIV/AIDS, and a decision on key directions for cooperation in the the field of innovation.

"We signed many important documents. But I would like to add that all the documents we signed are of great practical importance for the CIS countries. And today's meeting shows that with every year the CIS is gaining strength and momentum in the organization of its work," Yulia Tymoshenko concluded.
