turchinov.jpgThe head of Yulia Tymoshenko’s central election headquarters Oleksandr Turchynov has reported that based on the results of the parallel vote count conducted by representatives of BYuT, the difference in votes received by Yulia Tymoshenko and Viktor Yanukovych in the first round of presidential elections in no more than 4%.

"We already have a result that shows that during the first round of voting Viktor Yanukovych received 32.1% of votes, Yulia Tymoshenko – 27.7%, Serhiy Tihipko – 12.9%, Arseniy Yatseniuk – 6.9%, and Viktor Yushchenko – 5.4%," Oleksandr Turchynov said today at a press conference.

He noted that the given results were based on protocols received from 99% of all polling stations.

As reported, authorized representative of presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko in the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast Yuriy Romaniuk claims that the more than 10% gap between Yulia Tymoshenko and Viktor Yanukovych is artificial and the result of instructions issued by the Central Election Commission.

"The district election commissions in western regions of Ukraine received instructions from the CEC to hold on to the vote tally protocols until January 19," Yuriy Romaniuk reported.

He believes this will allow the Party of Regions to manipulate the numbers and attempt to show people their candidate’s advantage over Yulia Tymoshenko.

"As a result of the withholding of protocols, votes cast in western Ukraine, where Yulia Tymoshenko is the undisputed leader, won’t be counted in the results," he stressed.
