Yulia Tymoshenko’s defense preparing appeal of Kireyev’s ruling
"Right now it’s the weekend and I think that most likely Yulia Tymoshenko will file the appeal, and if they let me see her then, in principle, it’s not a problem to write the appeal. I read the ruling and believe there are grounds to cancel it through appeal. We will either mail the appeal or register it officially on Monday," Yuriy Sukhov told journalists outside the Lukyanivska jail.
Yuriy Sukhov came to Lukyanivsk to deliver Yulia Tymoshenko’s personal items and meet with her. "I already have permission from the court to meet with her. They’ll be bringing her personal items, hygiene products, bedding, and everything else," he said.
"I don’t know whether they’ll let me into the jail, but I have permission from the judge to see her. The judge didn’t say long she is to be kept in custody. This violates the European Convention on Human Rights. I don’t know how long they’re hold her there. I hope that the Appeals Court will order her release and she will be free," he said.
Judge Rodion Kireyev today granted the prosecution’s request to take Yulia Tymoshenko into custody for violating court order.
