Yulia Tymoshenko against internet traffic tax

_dsc8589.jpgPrime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is against the initiative to introduce a tax for each bite of internet traffic.

"I do not support any additional tax for internet traffic," Yulia Tymoshenko told journalists today in Bobrovytsia, Chernihiv oblast, commenting on the bill registered in the Verkhovna Rada by deputy Serhiy Teryokhin.

The bill would introduce a 1% tax for each bite of internet traffic, starting on January 1, 2010. The collected taxes would be put towards a specially created fund that would be used to finance theatrical performances, films and tours.

Yulia Tymoshenko believes that immediately following the presidential elections there needs to be a significant cut in taxes and the country's tax system needs to be put in order.
