Levko Lukyanenko: we won’t let them turn Ukraine into Little Russia

Levko Lukyanenko is calling on Ukrainians to build a powerful opposition throughout the country and not allow Ukraine to be turned into Little Russia.

"The fate of Ukraine depends on each of you. We can no longer rely on just anyone, especially Yanukovych and the Party of Regions, which, as we all know, is Moscow’s fifth column and is doing what the Moscow elite planed in Moscow – to transform Ukraine into Little Russia. Right now they’re rejoicing a huge victory, because on February 7 they put their man in charge of Little Russia as head of the Ukrainian state," Levko Lukyanenko said today during the viche of Ukrainian patriotic forces that took place by the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv.

He emphasized that a critical moment has come in Ukraine’s history. "We can’t allow a nation of 46 million to be transformed into Little Russia. And each of us needs to leave here today and go home, speak with neighbors and friends, and become active citizens."

He noted that a strong opposition is being formed with Yulia Tymoshenko as its leader. "Our task is to build an opposition throughout Ukraine to save the country from becoming Little Russia, and then our great poet Taras Shevchenko’s ideals will come true," he added.

Today, March 9, the viche of national-patriotic forces of Ukraine adopted a resolution to create a united democratic coalition.

Batkivshchyna, People’s Movement of Ukraine (Rukh), Motherland Defenders Party, People’s Self-Defense, Christian Democratic Union, Reforms and Order Party, Ukrainian Social Democratic Party, and other political and public organizations have joined the opposition.
