Yulia Tymoshenko government will supply schools with buses

In 2009 the Cabinet of Ministers plans to purchase 638 school buses as part of the School Bus Program with money from the stabilization fund.

According to Cabinet resolution No.. 1210, the buses will be purchased according to the procedure for procurement from one party without arrangement with the Ministry of Economy.

According to the government resolution, by the end of the year they will buy 150 buses that can seat 21 from the automotive plant AntoRus, 194 from Etalon corporation (47 buses that can seat 21, 137 that can seat 25, and 10 that can seat 30), 194 from Bohdan corporation (71 buses that can seat 21, 112 that can seat 25, 2 that can seat 30, and 9 for passengers with special needs), and100 buses that can seat 25 from ZAZ CJSC.

The Cabinet has also established price limits for the buses based on size: 21 seats - 210,000 UAH; 25 seats - 250,000 UAH; 30 seats - 300,000 UAH, passengers with special needs (26+4 seats) - 330,000 UAH.

According to the government decision, a 30% deposit will be paid for the buses. If the buses are not delivered within a month of the deposit payment, the amount is returned to the administrator of the budget funds. The final payment for the bus is made based on a delivery and acceptance certificate.

The School Bus Program was planned fro the years 2003-2010 and was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. The program calls for 3,650 buses worth a total of 508.24 million UAH to be purchased by 2010. Another 800 buses need to be purchased to reach this figure.
