Oleksandr Turchynov: CEC violated electoral legislation

turchinov1.jpgThe Central Election Commission violated the law in adopting the resolution on the number of election commission members to accompany the ballot boxes for voting at home, reported Yulia Tymoshenko’s campaign manager Oleksandr Turchynov.

"The CEC doesn’t have the right to change the law, because passing such a decision at 8am, once the elections are already underway, violates all existing and non-existing norms," Oleksandr Turchynov said.

He added that in doing so, the CEC gave the green right to total falsification, continuing the work of the Party of Regions and current President, who adopted and signed amendments to the presidential election law.

"After they adopted the resolution, members of the CEC from the Party of Regions, laughing, explained how they specifically adopted it on election day so that BYuT’s lawyers wouldn’t have time to appeal it," he said.

Today the Central Election Commission adopted a resolution allowing only two polling station commission members (instead of three, as foreseen by the presidential election law) to accompany the ballot box that will be used for people voting at home.
