Schools in certain regions will remain closed

 
turchinov-olexandr.jpgThe State Emergency Anti-Epidemic Commission, has decided to keep schools in certain regions of the country closed based on local threat of epidemic, First Vice Prime Minister and head of the commission Oleksandr Turchynov said today.

He mentioned that following areas as those where the break will be extended until the end of the week: certain districts in the Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, Uzhhorod (Zakarpattia region), districts in the Kirovohrad, Rivne and Chernivtsi regions.

As for the city of Kyiv, the commission decided to extend the break until November 25.

"The question remains about what to do in the Chernihiv oblast. The trends are positive but most of the raions are near the threshold level, and therefore, the emergency commission will make a decision only tomorrow about extending the break in separate regions and districts," Oleksandr Turchynov explained.

Preschools in the Kyiv oblast will open on November 23, and schools and higher educational institutions on November 25.

On October 30, the Cabinet of Minister announced a quarantine and closed schools for three weeks. This three-week period ends on Monday, November 23.
