Yulia Tymoshenko sentenced to 7 years in jail

pr_a5137.jpgJudge Rodion Kireyev has sentenced former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to seven years in prison and banned her from holding public office for another three years.

The court also sided with Naftohaz in a civil suit against the ex-premier, ordering her to pay back 1.5 billion hryvnias the company allegedly lost as a result of the gas contracts signed in January 2009.
