Authorities inventing new charges against Yulia Tymoshenko over fear sentence will be overturned
Lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko believes the authorities are afraid that Yulia Tymoshenko’s sentence in the so-called “gas case” will be overturned on appeal and are therefore fabricating new charges against her.
“Under pressure from the European community, they understand the cassation court, that will meet on May 15, has no other option but to cancel Kireyev’s absurd sentence and so they’re looking for other safeguards," Serhiy Vlasenko said at a press conference today in Kyiv.
"They have a plan for keeping Tymoshenko in jail. It’s all clearly written out - what they will do in two weeks, in one week. It all looks absurd and like clear propaganda," he said.
