Court again postpones UESU trial (photos)
The Kyivsky District Court of Kharkiv refused the request by Yulia Tymoshenko’s defense counsel to suspend the proceedings in the case involving United Energy Systems of Ukraine until her recovery and adjourned the trial until November 23.
"It’s hard to call this a court hearing if the judge comes out and reads a text written in advance, disregarding what’s taking place in court. The judge is ignoring the defense’s motions and always systematically reviewing and granting the prosecution’s motions," lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko said.
People in the courtroom responded to Judge Kostyantyn Sadovsky’s decision with shouts of "Shame!" Yulia Tymoshenko was represented today in court by lawyers Serhiy Vlasenko, Oleksandr Plakhotnyuk and Andriy Kozhemyakin.
Some 2,000 supporters of Yulia Tymoshenko picketed the Kharkiv courthouse.
