Show trial postponed again (video)
Judge Kostyantyn Sadovsky of the Kyivsky District Court of Kharkiv has postponed until July 10 the hearing of the fabricated case against Yulia Tymoshenko involving the activities of United Energy Systems of Ukraine from 1997-1998.
"The trial has been moved to July 10," defense lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko said after today’s hearing.
The defense team arrived in court today to find that a glass box for the defendant was made especially for Yulia Tymoshenko. It includes two tables, chairs, two file cabinets, a microphone, fresh flowers and paintings. For the first time in court practice, they found space for a plasma screen that includes a live feed from court surveillance cameras.
Former President of the European Parliament Pat Cox and former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski were in the courtroom today to monitor the proceedings on behalf of the European Parliament.
