Oleksandr Tymoshenko: my wife and I hide nothing

pr_a4956.jpgYulia Tymoshenko’s husband Oleksandr Tymoshenko says he and his wife speak openly on the phone, despite knowing their conversations are monitored.

"I speak with my wife over the phone, at the rare opportunity that the authorities allow her to make a brief call. All our conversations are listened to. So most of the time we talk about our daughter, family, our elderly mothers, their health, moods, daily problems. I listen to her vision of how to solve a particular problem. Yulia is a strong person. She doesn’t need pity or sympathy," Oleksandr Tymoshenko said in an interview in Контракти.ua.

He said that Yulia Tymoshenko repeatedly asks him to convey to the international community the truth about the situation in Ukraine and the excesses of the ruling government. "We try to do this as objectively and quickly as possible. She doesn’t ask anything for herself," he stressed.

"If we have the opportunity to speak, we do. We don’t hide anything or talk in code. Let Yanukovych talk in code with his wife. We didn’t break any laws," Oleksandr Tymoshenko stressed.

Yulia Tymoshenko’s husband believes their conversations are bugged on orders from the presidential administration. "The Ukrainian authorities are listening. It’s already become the norm for them to listen and watch Yulia all day and night. My relatives and I are under surveillance, provocations are organized against family and friends. There’s nothing to figure out. Everyone knows that the center for surveillance, blackmail, intrigue, provocations, the humiliation and destruction of Ukraine as a democratic state is on the 4th floor of 11 Bankova Street," he said.

Oleksandr Tymoshenko refrained from commenting on the court’s decision to confiscate and sell Yulia Tymoshenko’s apartment in Dnipropetrovsk. "Let them take everything they can and move in anyone they want, let even the families of Yanukovych and Co. move into our apartment in Dnipropetrovsk. The trial of Yulia Tymoshenko is a disgrace for Ukraine and a dark stain on its international reputation. The European Court of Human Rights upheld this. We didn’t steal anything from anyone – not Mezhyhirya, not factories, not land, not mines, and we didn’t kill anyone. The time will come when everything that was expropriated will be returned to the country and its people," he said.

Yulia Tymoshenko’s husband added that the Ukrainian government has made several attempts to influence his business in the Czech Republic through illegal rulings by bribed Ukrainian courts. "The Czech Republic is an open democratic country. If you want to find something out, go to the sites of the registration system and financial institutions. My interest is in areas of business that bring materials and moral satisfaction," Oleksandr Tymoshenko explained.

He also said that he has no property in Prague. "I don’t need it. I am very grateful to the Czech Republic, but I do believe we’re here temporarily. We’re trying to create all the conditions to liberate Ukraine from the occupation of the current government. This time will soon come," Oleksandr Tymoshenko said.
