Head of the Batkivshchyna faction Yulia Tymoshenko says the agenda for the Verkhovna Rada plenary week of April 15-18 is full of deeply corrupt and lobbied bills that will have a negative effect on people’s lives.
“The authorities plan this week to pass draft law №8225D which would transfer strategic state property not subject to privatization into concession or management, thus privatizing them without money,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during a press briefing after today’s meeting of the coordination board of heads of factions and committees.
She said the Verkhovna Rada also plans to consider another unacceptable draft law - №6677 on the introduction of a compulsory accumulative state pension system.
“This week there is a bill with which they want to introduce private pension funds. They want to again deceive Ukrainians into putting their money into these private pension funds and then these funds will disappear along with people’s money,” she warned.
Yulia Tymoshenko noted another unacceptable bill – №6405 on private credit unions.
“With this bill they want to create private credit unions, run crazy advertising promising annual rates of 15-20% and urging people to put their money in these credit unions. And this pyramid for people who want to hope for the best is already starting,” she said.
Also on the plenary week agenda is draft law №3738 on a simplified system of land sale to foreigners.
“They are again trying to divide up Ukrainian land with oligarchic transnational corporations. This is the legislation being passed behind the backs of the Ukrainian people,” she said.
Yulia Tymoshenko said the Batkivshchyna faction will do everything possible to defend the interests of Ukrainian citizens and prevent these bills from being adopted.
