Yulia Tymoshenko says she is ready to debate other candidates for the presidency and believes they should revolve around strategies for the country.
“I want to invite President Poroshenko and the other top five candidates to a debate,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during the program “Free Speech” on channel ICTV.
According to the politician, the debates should not be about “throwing dirt at each other,” but about “important things for the country,” each candidate’s strategy for building the country.
Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that society has lost faith in politics and politicians and that it is time to “move from hypothetical promises to clear written promises about numbers, terms, specific things, not slogans on billboards and TV ads.”
“Every candidate should sign a written pledge to every Ukrainian on their plan. If the elected president does not fulfill those promises within the window of opportunity by the parliamentary election, then this political party and its leader should be struck from the elections,” she said.
Yulia Tymoshenko displayed her signed pledge and urged other candidates to do the same.
