Batkivshchyna faction leader Yulia Tymoshenko is calling on Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to investigate the illegal transfer of the Ukrainian gas transportation system to unknown investors.
“I am making a public statement, which is also my official deputy appeal, that the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) and National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) investigate why the absolutely profitable and successful structure of Ukrtransgaz, which has ownership of the gas transportation system, is on the verge of bankruptcy,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during today’s meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and chairmen of parliamentary committees.
According to the politician, the government is allowing the appropriation of the Ukrainian GTS by “unknown investors,” and leading “Ukrtransgaz” to artificial bankruptcy.
“Therefore, we need to check how the current government is preparing to rewrite a Ukrainian asset to unknown investors,” said the Head of the Batkivshchyna Party.
The parliamentarian warned that building the Ukrainian GTS from scratch would cost 300 billion euros, which is too large a cost for the country’s budget.
