Batkivshchyna faction leader Yulia Tymoshenko is calling for the government – namely Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk and Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalik – on the crisis situation in the country’s nuclear power industry.
“A crisis is emerging in Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector. Thousands of nuclear energy workers are protesting. Batkivshchyna wants to hear from the finance and energy ministers to get an understanding of the state of affairs in the nuclear power industry,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during the coordinating council of parliament faction and committee leaders.
According to the politician, thermal energy prices have been increased significantly and “money from the energy market is being laundered through heat energy while nuclear power gets nothing.”
“There is no money to buy nuclear fuel and pay wages. How badly do you have to run the country for the nuclear power industry to be in a state of destruction?” Yulia Tymoshenko said.
