Batkivshchyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko says her faction is categorically against draft law №7066 on the privatization of state assets.
“The Batkivshchyna faction is against the privatization of strategic state-owned objects during a war,” Yulia Tymoshenko told journalists inside the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the politician, President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman “together with their majority in parliament are pushing through the privatization of Ukraine’s strategic objects.”
“How can you, during a war and crisis, when there is no property market, sell property of the state of Ukraine for pennies to your people, without any real competition and without the participation of global investors,” the Batkivshchyna faction head said, angrily.
The politician said that Ukraine’s top officials are gearing up for another corrupt privatization scheme that will turn Ukraine “into a springboard that will bring them billions.” The parliamentarian also raised the issue that President Petro Poroshenko still has not sold his business, as required by current law.
“The president of Ukraine isn’t selling his company ROSHEN during a war! And today he has no right without a market to sell to those in his circle what belongs to the Ukrainian people,” she said.
“There is no state in the world where there is no state property. For example, in the US, France, Germany, Great Britain 20-30% of all property is state-owned,” Yulia Tymoshenko concluded.
