Batkivschyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko says that Ukraine has “ten golden resources” that if effectively used will raise the country and people’s lives to a new level.

“Ukraine has ten golden resources. If we use all of them we will become among the 20 most developed countries of the world. But for this we need to work. And I believe that Ukraine can be raised quickly,” Yulia Tymoshenko said on the program “Ukrainian Format” on the TV channel NewsOne.

According to the politician, the first “golden resource” is the base of the raw material economy, which should be changed to the economy of innovation development.

“The innovative component in the Ukrainian economy is only 3% of GDP, while in Estonia it is 70%. We can raise our economy by 7.5 times if we follow an innovative form of development,” said the parliamentarian.

The second resource is the restart of industrial enterprises, 70% of which either do not work at all, or do not work at full capacity.

The third is the country’s subsoil and the extraction of minerals, which will annually bring the budget $14-15 billion.

“The goal is in five years to be self-sufficient in oil and gas. We must reach energy dependence,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.

The fifth “golden resource” is Ukrainian land.

“Therefore, the agrarian sector should be properly reformed, the national middle agrarian class should be protected, but it is categorically unacceptable to open the sale of agricultural land,” she said.

The sixth “golden resource” is the transport capabilities of Ukraine, the correct use of which “can bring Ukraine up to $30 billion annually.”

The seventh resource is the transit potential of the Ukrainian GTS, the eighth is the aviation industry, the ninth is the space industry, and the tenth is the tourism industry.

“And if we can exploit these 10 golden resources, then we will be able to become one of the most successful countries in the world,” summed up Yulia Tymoshenko.
