Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko says that lowering unreasonable tariffs for people will become a test for the new President Volodymyr Zelensky on whether he is ready to act in the interests of Ukrainian citizens.
“The issue of lowering tariffs is a big test for the new President. He needs to understand why Ukrainian gas is sold at inflated tariffs, to find the perpetrators through the security forces the new heads of which he appointed. It will be a big test whether he is ready to restore order in the state: whether he will be on the side of the people or on the side of the oligarchic system,” Yulia Tymoshenko said on the program “Great Evening” on the TV channel NewsOne.
The politician reminded that the presidential team announced that they do not plan to reduce tariffs. According to her, “this is something people need to know when they are going to the polls next Sunday.” The President has all the powers and grounds for reducing tariffs.
“But the President hasn’t done this yet. This means that something is wrong here,” she said.
The head of the Batkivshchyna Party called on Ukrainians not to lose hope, because it is possible to achieve lower tariffs for the population.
“That is why political forces should be elected to parliament that really understand how to do this. And people should look at who has the political will to reduce tariffs. Batkivshchyna always stood in defense of the interests of the people,” concluded Yulia Tymoshenko.
