Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko says the new government in Ukraine should protect Ukrainian labor migrants, and therefore the money earned abroad by labor migrants should not be taxed in Ukraine.
“People who went abroad to work abroad and give money to their families in Ukraine so that they can support the Ukrainian economy with this money are the largest investors in the Ukrainian economy. Therefore, we should remove all obstacles, licenses, prohibitions, declarations and taxes, so that labor migrants can freely bring financial resources to Ukraine,” Yulia Tymoshenko said on the program “Main Topic. Choice” on TRK Ukraine.
The head of the Batkivshchyna Party stressed that in current realities, the lack of work, low wages and pensions, poor health care system, education, environment and lack of security are pushing people out of Ukraine.”
“Therefore, I will never agree that they should be taxed instead of saying thank you for keeping the economy afloat,” said the parliamentarian.
According to the politician, the new government should take the following steps to keep Ukrainians in Ukraine: change the raw material economy should to an economy of innovative development, change the monetary policy, restore the solvency of the Ukrainian population by increasing pensions and wages, provide people with proper education and health care through compulsory health insurance.
“Everything will depend on what the new team will do after the reboot of power. It’s not enough to want, you need to know how. I believe that we will be able to raise Ukraine and put it on its feet, give people a completely different quality of life, and our generation will see this result,” said Yulia Tymoshenko.
