Batkivshchyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko says the new government in Ukraine should restore citizens’ confidence in the banking system by replacing the leadership of the NBU and conducting an audit of the central bank, which in recent years has led to a catastrophic decline in the banking and financial system.

“I dream that the new President will immediately change the leadership of the NBU, which is killing its own country. There should also be an audit of the NBU to show the whole world that for 5 years the NBU built a financial pyramid through which Poroshenko and his entourage earned more than $13 billion,” Yulia Tymoshenko said on the program “Wild Karasov” on TV channel NewsOne.

According to the politician, the Batkivshchyna team has at its disposal documents that show the existence of corruption offenses and fraud in the NBU by President Poroshenko and his entourage who “cleaned out over 100 Ukrainian banks,” which led to the middle class losing 200 billion hryvnias in deposits and property worth 450 billion hryvnias.

“We are ready to help the new President. It’s important that he has the political will to do this, otherwise it means that the old system has won,” she said.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, after the collapse of Ukrainian banks under Poroshenko, people are afraid to put money into banks. Therefore, the task of the new government is to restore confidence in the banking system.
