Batkivshchyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko has announced that her party will participate in the 2019 parliamentary elections and that they are ready to form a coalition with the new President and other democratic pro-European parties to implement a step-by-step plan based on the New Course for Ukraine to transform the country and change the lives of its citizens.
“We are ready in the new parliament to join a strong coalition with the new President and other democratic pro-European parties and we propose that the New Course for Ukraine, a plan that we developed together, become the coalition agreement of the new ‘coalition of action,’” Yulia Tymoshenko said during the 14th Batkivshchyna Party Congress.
According to the politician, it is realistic for the first results of their work to appear in the first one hundred days of the new coalition.
“Results in one hundred days – that’s what we want to show people. We want this project – the New Course for Ukraine – to become the calendar where every Ukrainian can see what has been done: stopping the economic fall, the terrorizing of business, minimizing corruption through changes in tax legislation,” she said.
The Head of the Batkivshchyna Party also said the by following the New Course for Ukraine the new coalition in the first one hundred days will restructure the country’s monetary policy, create conditions for the growth of the middle class, create a proper pension and healthcare system, set fair tariffs, strengthen guarantees for socially vulnerable groups, support culture, education and science.
“We will hold a separate meeting to present to society the detailed plan of action for the first 100 days and the strategic lines that will raise Ukraine. I want the country and for all of us to look at the future with confidence, belief and hope that the reboot of power will open up a new and bright chance,” she said.
Yulia Tymoshenko also said that Batkivshchyna, as a strong, professional and experienced team, “should stand together with the new President, his team and the new democratic parties in parliament” because only such a union can “prevent the entry to parliament of those who worked behind the scenes to pass lobbied decisions.”
“It is extremely important to prevent revenge and for there to be real results that affect people. It’s important that not only the names and faces in parliament change (…), but that the old system is broken and people start to feel that they are living better. That is why we gathered here today and are participating in the parliamentary elections,” concluded the Head of the Batkivshchyna Party.
The Batkivshchyna Party announced at its 14th Party Congress the top five names on the party list for the early parliamentary elections on July 21, 2019:
1. Yulia Tymoshenko
2. Serhiy Taruta
3. Valentyn Nalyvaichenko
4. Serhiy Sobolev
5. Olena Kondratyuk
“If we were to name all the prominent members of our team, the congress would go on for week. This team is ready to work to revive Ukraine,” said the politician.
