Batkivshchyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko says the privatization by the government of state-owned Oschadbank is unacceptable, and the new President should immediately react to the deprivation of Ukraine’s strategic state property.
“The privatization of state Oschadbank has began, and in the eyes of the new president they are taking away key strategic property of Ukraine, where people have kept their pensions and savings since the time of the USSR,” Yulia Tymoshenko said on the program “Wild Karasov” on TV channel NewsOne.
The politician reminded that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the new Oschadbank charter, which changes it from a public joint stock company to private and renames it JSC “State Savings Bank of Ukraine.”
“I think it is important to immediately stop those things that deprive Ukraine of strategic property, money and its future. The President should veto the government’s resolution, because this is aggression against Ukrainian property,” Yulia Tymoshenko said, adding that “the national banking system is a matter of national security of Ukraine.”
