Batkivshchyna faction leader Yulia Tymoshenko is demanding that parliament consider the dismissal of acting Minister of Health Ulana Suprun over the unacceptable state of Ukraine’s health care sector.
“I demand that the Verkhovna Rada consider the dismissal of acting Minister of Health Mrs. Suprun, discuss it, call out the health minister, and hold a vote on her dismissal,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during today’s meeting of the parliament coordination board of heads of factions and chairs of committees.
The parliamentarian expressed outrage over unacceptable things happening in the health care sector and stressed that parliament must respond appropriately to the situation.
“There is already a second report by the Accounting Chamber showing that not only are medicines not being supplied to Ukraine through the state procurement program, but that experimental drugs and those not controlled by the country are being supplied and experiments are being done on Ukrainians,” the said.
The parliamentarian also strongly condemned a statement by Deputy Minister of Health Oleksandr Linchevsky in which he said that he does not feel it necessary to treat people with cancer.
“This is the quintessence of what this ministry of health is doing,” the politician said.
