Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has filed a lawsuit with the Kyiv District Administrative Court regarding the violation by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Pension Fund and the Ministry of Social Policy of citizens’ right to a minimum pension, and if the court rules favorable, this will allow Ukrainian pensioners to demand a recalculation of their pension to the subsistence level of 3094 hryvnias.
“We filed a lawsuit in the District Administrative Court of Ukraine in Kyiv demanding that all decisions of the government be recognized as illegitimate for those pensioners who were paid less than the living wage of 3094 hryvnias,” Yulia Tymoshenko said at a briefing after filing the suit, adding that she is confident they will win.
The defendants in the case are the Cabinet of Ministers, the Pension Fund and the Ministry of Social Policy, “three entities that grossly violated the law.”
“They are obliged to pay the pensioners the funds that they own them under the law,” said the parliamentarian.
The Head of the Batkivshchyna Party added that every vote that Ukrainians give to the Batkivshchyna Party in the parliamentary elections is a vote to restore justice to the citizens of Ukraine.
“Every vote for the Batkivshchyna Party is a vote for raising the minimum pension to at least 3094 hryvnias, for cutting tariffs in half, against the sale of agricultural land, and against the sale of strategic state property,” concluded Yulia Tymoshenko.
