Batkivshchyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko says the Batkivshchyna team has prepared a plan – “We Must Act” – of urgent steps and should be taken immediately after the formation of the new government.

“Today we are talking about a reanimation package and emergency measures that can be done in a few weeks, months, or even hours. These are economic and social steps, our plan of action, which will allow us to use the window of opportunity,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during the presentation of the Action Plan “We Must Act” in Kyiv on July 10.

“The speed of revival of the economy is critically important. And after the parliamentary elections, our team will calculate time in hours. Our effectiveness is measured in hours,” said the Head of the Batkivshchyna Party.

The politician stressed that the Batkivshchyna team decided that after the reboot of government and election of a new parliament, they will “stand next to the new President and the new team as friends.”

“We will be a team that can advise and help go through this path of difficult changes that Ukraine needs. And nobody will prevent us from fulfilling our intentions and throw us off track,” the parliamentarian emphasized.

Yulia Tymoshenko during the presentation of the program “We Must Act” named 10 priority steps for the new government. A pre-priority is the complete inventory of all the resources of Ukraine: land, subsoil, state-owned enterprises, power facilities and transport infrastructure.

“If we perform this inventory, then we will restore order, and what was brazenly taken away will be returned to Ukraine. And we will bring all those responsible for the theft of property that belongs to the people to account,” Yulia Tymoshenko said

According to the politician, the first of 10 urgent reanimation steps is a radical change in monetary policy.

“Our team will prove that if the NBU implements the correct credit policy, Ukraine’s economy will grow,” she said.

Yulia Tymoshenko said the removing the Ukrainian economy from the shadow will double GDP growth. To do this, a new tax system is needed that will change the tax base (sales tax instead of VAT, tax on capital withdrawal instead of income tax, personalized pension system and a single tax per hectare of land).

The next steps are the introduction of the program “Contraband Stop!” and the creation of an internal market, which will increase the purchasing power of the Ukrainian population due to increased incomes.

The next steps are to raise the minimum pension to the subsistence level, which today is 3,094 hryvnias, a review of the deadly medical reform and introduction of compulsory health insurance, as well as a change in the tariff policy for the population.

“As of today, we have a court decision on the illegality of government decisions imposing excessive tariffs on people. That is why it is possible to cut tariffs in half,” she said.

Yulia Tymoshenko also noted that Batkivshchyna has a youth policy program, which provides for the restoration of state aid for the birth of a child. The last of the ten reanimation actions is the start of comprehensive and large-scale construction in Ukraine with the introduction of an affordable mortgage lending program.
