Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has urged Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy to immediately put on the agenda a vote for draft law №8107 on the prohibition of the sale of the Ukrainian GTS.
“I ask the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy, all heads of parliamentary factions and people’s deputies to vote for draft law №8107 introduced by Batkivshchyna, which prohibits any manipulation of the property of the GTS,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during the conciliation council of faction leaders and chairmen of parliamentary committees.
The politician stressed that President Petro Poroshenko and his circle “plan” to sell for almost nothing half of the GTS, which is unacceptable because the gas transportation system is the property of the Ukrainian people.
“Today the GTS brings about $3 billion annually to the state budget. And to build the same GTS from scratch would require about $300 billion. Therefore, the Ukrainian GTS must remain state-owned,” she said.
Yulia Tymoshenko also urged all parliamentarians to support the relevant bill in order to protect state property from encroachment by the corrupt environment of President Petro Poroshenko.
“If parliamentarians do not vote for this bill, it will mean that they are accomplices of President Petro Poroshenko and his circle,” the politician said.
