Batkivshchyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko says her team will file a lawsuit over unlawfully low payments to Ukrainian pensioners.
“On Wednesday, July 17, we will file a lawsuit, because 71% of pensioners in Ukraine are not paid pensions 3094 hryvnias, the size established by law. And we will win this case,” Yulia Tymoshenko said on the program “Great Evening” on the TV channel NewsOne.
The politician explained that the Constitution of Ukraine and the laws of Ukraine set the subsistence minimum of 3094 hryvnias, and wages and pensions should not be lower than this, but 71% of pensioners receive payments lower than the living wage established by law.
“Groysman and Poroshenko did not comply with the law on minimum pensions. They did not pay them, and laundered this money from the budget,” she said.
The head of the Batkivshchyna Party also stressed that the new President of Ukraine should take control of this unacceptable situation with the social security of Ukrainian citizens.
“I hope that the President will carry out these checks and hold those involved accountable,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.
