After her victory in the presidential election, Batkivshchyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko intends to implement the “New Course for Ukraine,” a strategic program developed by a team of leading experts, which will improve living standards by moving away from an economy based on raw materials to innovation.
“We must stop being the raw material appendage of Europe. Ukraine supplies millions of tons of grain to the world, but domestic farmers do not receive anything from it. Meanwhile, other countries buy our grain and use it to produce feed, flour, pasta and trade in finished products with the world,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during a meeting with residents of the Desniansky district of Kyiv.
According to the politician, in the future the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex will export finished processed agricultural products. The “New Course for Ukraine” provides for long-term loans for farmers at a rate of 3% per annum, a correct tax system, single tax on a hectare of land, and a system of support and subsidies.
“In 3 years we will have not 18 billion euros, but180 billion from trade in finished products – this is double the country’s GDP and from one sector of the economy only,” said the presidential candidate.
