Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko believes that the change of the country’s system of government, properly built state policy, realization of economic and social potential with a focus on the individual, will allow to create a fundamentally new model of Ukraine’s life and ensure the proper quality of life for its people.
“Ukraine can become a powerful European country. According to the UN, Ukraine is ranked sixth in the world in terms of level of intelligence. And we can formulate our national idea in such a way as to create rules whereby each person will live correctly, happily and realize their God-given potential,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during a meeting with entrepreneurs in Chernivtsi.
According to the politician, today Ukraine has a very weak economy, Ukrainians are one of the poorest nations of the world, and there is also a lack of opportunities for business development. Therefore, it is extremely important today for Ukrainians to combine their efforts, their intellect and their potential to build a truly strong and independent country.
“We must rely only on ourselves to build Ukraine, or else we will disappear as an independent country from the world map. The reason is that they do not plan to create a strong, independent, sovereign and economically competitive country. We must gather the national intellect, practitioners, and build our own strategy and clear development plan. Enough relying on ‘advice’ from the outside,” said the Leader of the Batkivshchyna Party.
Yulia Tymoshenko warned that today the country is “floating without a helm and sails,” making it easy prey for global transnational corporations who want to benefit from Ukraine’s resources.
“The country is in a system of someone else’s interests, and is being used for the material interests of others. And they are after our resources: Ukrainian land, transit facilities, GTS, etc. The world is also competing for our active and creative people, because the world paradigm of development has moved from economies based on raw materials to innovation,” she explained.
Yulia Tymoshenko informed entrepreneurs about the draft program of the New Course, in particular its economic component, and called on all intellectuals, economists, finance experts, and entrepreneurs to work together on the final program of the New Economic Course.
